New Treble Choir 21V names Charlie Griffin for inaugural commission with April 1 & 2 premiere

After many months of planning and preparation, we are beyond excited to be announcing 21Vโ€™s inaugural program, ๐˜ฝ๐™š๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐˜ฝ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ง๐™ฎ, ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—น ๐Ÿญ, ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ at the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center and ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—น ๐Ÿฎ, ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ at the African American Museum & Library in Oakland. These performances explore and challenge the myth of โ€œus vs. themโ€, and will feature the world premiere of 21Vโ€™s first commission, โ€œPraise Song for Tulsa.โ€

Praise Song for Tulsa is a newly-composed work for the voices of 21V and audio that includes improvisation, solos, and a speaking Pastoral role, with text by my poet friend and Orisha Priest, Christina Springer.
