OPO-HORNSToday’s show featured an interview with the Orlando Philharmonic’s principal horn Mark Fischer, who came to the studio to discuss his upcoming performance of Haydn’s Horn Concerto No. 1 on a concert that also featured Schubert’s (Unfinished) 8th Symphony, and Beethoven’s Overture to Prometheus.

John Williams – Horn Concerto: I. Angelus; II. The Battle of the Trees; III. Pastorale; IV. The Hunt; V. Nocturne, performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Thea Musgrave – Horn Concerto, performed by the Scottish National Symphony
Franz Joseph Haydn – Concerto for Horn, 2nd movement, performed by the Academy of St. Martin in the Field
Magnus Lindberg – Campana In Aria, performed by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orhcestra

CBG2_WPRKOriginally from New York, Charles Griffin returned to the U.S. in 2010 to take a position at Florida's Full Sail University as course director of Advanced Music Composition in their MPBS program, after spending 5 years living and working in Latvia. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at festivals and concert halls throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Brazil, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.

He is also a radio show host on 91.5 WPRK FM. His show Zero Crossings incorporates live interviews with composers, conductors and performers with a focus on the local contemporary art music scene.
