Quattro Differente to perform Panta Rei in Rīga on September 10

The Rīga-based clarinet quartet Quattro Differente (Guntars Gedroics, Kristaps Kitners, Marina Vidmonte & Ceslavs Grods) will include my Panta Rei on their concert at the Jaunais Rīgas Teātris in Rīga, Latvia, on Monday, September 10th at 7PM.

Panta Rei, originally an 8-minute work for saxophone quartet, was premiered by the Amherst Saxophone Quartet in Buffalo, New York. Quattro Differente premiered an earlier version of the piece in Ogre, Latvia, last year.

Also on the program will be works by Nick Gotham (Up From Under/Uzniršana), Jēkabs Nīmanis (Episodes), Santa Ratniece (Septiņi Pakāpieni), Jānis Dūda (Intermezzo), Edgars Raginskis (Asteriona nams), Austra Savicka (About Time), and Imants Mežaraups (Sfinksa).

CBG2_WPRKOriginally from New York, Charles Griffin returned to the U.S. in 2010 to take a position at Florida's Full Sail University as course director of Advanced Music Composition in their MPBS program, after spending 5 years living and working in Latvia. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at festivals and concert halls throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Brazil, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.

He is also a radio show host on 91.5 WPRK FM. His show Zero Crossings incorporates live interviews with composers, conductors and performers with a focus on the local contemporary art music scene.
